The mission of the Southwest Independent Repeater Association is to provide reliable communications between ham radio operators and the National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma. We strive to keep all the equipment and sites in top notch shape. Troy "N5VIN" is our main technician with KB5LLI bringing up the slack. We take traffic given to local nets via net liaisons and then pass the traffic to Norman. The repeater operates on a daily basis with chit chat but weather takes precedence over everything. This is our 10th year in operation and would not be possible without the hams from Southern and Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas. Our repeaters are not a club but an association that survives entirely by donation, if you would like to help support the Association fill out form on our member page and send your donation to that address. Bottom line is tornado's kill people and destroy lives, we want to do our best to give all people in our coverage area the ability to be fore warned so they can get to safety. We also invite scanner listeners to listen to also get the latest updates from Norman.
